Cathay Cargo B747 Ramp Visit with Captain Chris

Nathan’s ramp visit to BNE this week to catch up with Cathay Pacific Captain Chris Andrew and see the Queen did not disappoint. It’s impossible not to be in awe of the Cathay Cargo B747-8 when you’re up close.

“Why taxi on the outboards?”

“How does the body gear steering feel?”

“How do you verify the pallets on the upper deck are in the right spot?”

Some observations from point-blank range:

The GENx engines look incredible up close.

The new gapped Kruegers are a true work of art.

That supercritical wing is just beautiful.

We could honestly go on all day. We love this bird.
